Introduction:
The Operations Manager job title is used in large Districts or remote locations without a SSM and need for a local manager. In these locations the Operations Manager has direct responsibility with hire and fire authority over Delivery Reps, Service Techs or CRRs. The Operations Manager title does not mean that each position is identical from District to District where the responsibilities will vary from location to location.
Job Summary (Purpose):
Manages and supervises Delivery Rep, Service Technician or CRR day-to-day activities and performance. May ride with Delivery Reps and or Service Technicians to coach employees and observe work activities. Under direction of District or Sales and Service Manager to assure that employees are allocated to appropriate activities as needed. Directly interviews, hires, and trains the District's employees. Appraises employee performance, disciplines employees, and addresses complaints and resolves problems as needed.

Has required licenses and is fully competent in District operations in the locations and areas they are responsible for.
Leadership, communication and supervision skills to lead employees effectively.
Ability to operate independently from District Manger or SSM and make decisions.

Responsibilities:
1. Ensures compliance with safety codes and policies including the servicing and repair of company vehicles, employees wearing proper PPE and delivering propane at customer locations following Company procedures which are safe and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
2. Communicates daily with Delivery Reps and Service Techs to analyze work activities and coaching for performance improvement.
3. Reviews performance reports daily to ensure that Del Reps and Service Techs are meeting the benchmarks set forth by the District Manager and Market Manager.
4. Ensures that new hire paperwork (both DOT and HR packets) is completed as required.
5. Conducts and/or ensures that all training for employees are completed, beginning with the 5 Day Delivery Training, CETP, GAS Check, Smith driving school training as well as specific appliance related training with vendors.
6. Works with the District Manager to ensure that the CRRs are scheduling installation and service work in accordance with the service benchmarks.
7. Review the service schedule calendar to prepare for service needs and make certain that the proper equipment and resources are available to complete the scheduled work.
8. Reviews the Service Technician''s Vehicle Report (TVRs), Daily Vehicle Inspection Report, Sales Service Orders (SSOs), Supply & Lease Agreements and OOG/Red Tags to ensure paperwork is completed accurately.
9. Participates in ride alongs with Del Reps and Service Techs to evaluate technicians for safety and efficiency.
10. Ensures a professional appearance of AmeriGas equipment and personnel to our customers.
11. Monitors financial performance of the service team by reviewing TVRS and SSOs to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and billed accurately.
12. Perform site inspections by visiting customer sites before and after installations to ensure compliance with safety codes and Company policy.
13. Support the PFI process by ensuring PFI policy compliance and prioritizing PFI repairs.
14. Supervise cylinder and tank refurbishing in order to prepare a tank needs list for the District/Market Manager.
15. Conducts meetings with service technicians and direct reports to discuss district/market/region/company communications, accomplishments, concerns and goals.
16. Ensures that service vehicles are in compliance with all DOT and company regulations including the Donlen maintenance program.
17. Ensures that all vehicle licensing, registrations and permits are kept current and that vehicle and cargo tank inspections are performed as required.
18. Ensure physical office/plant is a clean, safe and productive work environment for all employees.
19. Performs related duties on an assigned or as needed basis.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of trucks and required maintenance needed.
Knowledge of propane along with the safe operation in filling and storing operations.
Computer skills preferred.
Education, Licenses/Certifications & Experience Required:
High school diploma required, college degree preferred.
Two
years industry experience including responsibility leading and supervising other employees
Computer skills with a valid drivers license, CDL and DOT qualification preferred.
CTEP and/or required state/local/permits/certifications for work performed.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job the incumbent is often exposed to hazardous/caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The incumbent is working in both office and external work environments.
